This is an unspoiled remote less used and filled with beautiful scenery way up to Shira Plateau. standard route takes normally 7 days, however since the route is long and a group wishing to ascend slower can comfortably take 8 days by camping at Karanga Valley before moving on to Barafu. A strong group can complete this trip in 6 days via “Western Breach”

Day 1 MTI MKUBWA CAMPSITE (3000m 9900ft)

Drive from Arusha/Moshi to Kilimanjaro Londorosi Gate, after registrations continue drives another 20 min to the Lemosho trail head. Lunch and switch to you hiking equipment’s and soon start your climb 3-4 hours hiking under heavy tropical forest 98% canopy cover vegetation zone, dinner and overnight Mti Mkubwa campsite, the elevations at camp 2,850m

Day 2 SHIRA ONE CAMPSITE (3500m 11850ft)

In the morning at Mti Mkubwa camp, first breakfast and then start your day 2 climb to Shira one campsite.  Today you will discover another vegetations zone known as moorland which filled with beautiful flowers and great scenery. After lunch on halfway, the view is exceptional and the trail leads you toward north to the Shira one campsite. Dinner and overnight stay at Shira 1 camp, the elevation at camp 3,570m

Day 3 SHIRA TWO CAMPSITE (3850m 12630ft)

In morning breakfast is necessary then starts your day 3 climbing to Shira two campsites, hiking across Shira plateau, Accommodations Shira two campsites.

Day 4 BARRANCO CAMP (3950m 13,000ft)

After breakfast continue climbing up to Lava camp for lunch and later continue to Baranco valley camp. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay Baranco camp.

Day 5 BARAFU CAMP (4650m 4600m 15092ft

In the morning after breakfast at Baranco, start climbing Baranco breach and continue down to Karanga camp for lunch thereafter continue to Barafu camp. get prepared for the summit tonight. Dinner and overnight stay camp.

Day 6 SUMMIT (5895M 19340FT) / MWEKA CAMP (3000M)

At 12:00pm attend to the mess tent for light breakfast then start your climb to the summit, after summit descend down back to Barafu camp for a short rest. After lunch continues descend down to Mweka or millennium campsite.

Day 7 MWEKA GATE /ARUSHA

In the morning enjoy your last breakfast on the mountain and later start hiking down to Mweka gate, meet your driver, get your certificate for those who summated and later after lunch continue driving back to Arusha.
